The Guild Co. and Brakes India Announce Strategic Partnership

CHENNAI / BENGALURU, July 25, 2026 — The Guild Co. (TGC), strategic ventures and supply chain build specialist, today announced a strategic partnership with Brakes India Private Limited, India’s largest brake manufacturer and part of the century-old TSF Group. The agreement was formalized at a signing ceremony and program kick-off held at Brakes India’s corporate office in Chennai on July 23, 2026.

Under the program, The Guild Co. will work with Brakes India to build deep, enduring connections across global suppliers in best cost countries. The scope of the service spans supply chain buildouts including competitive benchmarking and risk mitigation with the shared objective of accelerating Brakes India’s global growth ambitions.

About Brakes India and the TSF Group

Brakes India is a leading supplier of braking systems and ferrous castings, catering to passenger, commercial vehicles, and tractors. Founded in 1962, its revenues exceed ₹8,300 crores ($900M USD), with pioneering innovation in mechanical, electrical, and software system design.

Equipped with state-of-the-art testing facilities and a global-standard high-speed test track, the company partners with global OEMs for hydraulic and pneumatic braking systems. Brakes India’s renowned metal foundry, with a capacity exceeding 2,20,000 tons, exports safety-critical castings and was among the first certified green casting foundries. A pioneer in sustainability, it was also an early recipient of the prestigious Deming Application Prize.

Brakes India is promoted by the TSF Group, whose heritage dates to 1911. The TSF Group has combined revenues exceeding ₹35,000 Cr., 45,000 employees across 50 factories, and 1,400+ branches worldwide. The Group’s portfolio includes auto-components manufacturers, distributions and dealerships, and financial services.

Brakes India’s Global Ambitions

Guided by its Vision 2030, Brakes India is pursuing a long-term growth strategy focused on strengthening its global presence and expanding its export business. Through continued investments in technology, manufacturing capabilities, and strategic collaborations, the company is positioning to serve customers across international markets with advanced braking solutions.

“As India evolves into a multi-powertrain market, we see significant opportunities to support a diverse range of mobility solutions across ICE and EV. With our strong technology capabilities, manufacturing excellence, we are strategically positioned to expand our export footprint and solidify our domestic market leadership.” — K. Vasudevan, Group President & Head, Brakes Business, Brakes India Private Limited

The Guild Co.’s Role

The Guild Co. is a strategic ventures firm that works with India’s leading industrial companies to build capabilities and capacities across global markets. TGC builds through three businesses: Strategic Ventures (supply-chain builds, technology transfer and manufacturing partnerships), Resilient Supply and Sovereign Stack — each designed to close the gap between India’s industrial ambitions and what its companies can access independently.

The program with Brakes India draws on TGC’s deep relationships across best cost countries to connect Brakes India with qualified global suppliers for supply chains and co-development opportunities — building lasting capability in India rather than creating import dependency.

“When we met the Brakes India team in Chennai, what struck us most was not the scale of what they have built — though it is formidable — but the clarity of what they want to build next. A company with that direction and that quality culture is exactly who you want to work with in new territories. Our job is to make sure the world’s best capabilities find their way to Brakes India — and that those connections translate into transactions, not just conversations.” — Anshuman Gupta, Founding Partner, The Guild Co.

“India’s manufacturers are ready to compete globally. What they need are the right partners in the right markets. This is not easy work — building real supply chains and technology partnerships across geographies takes time, persistence, and deep relationships. We do it anyway, because the alternative is India continuing to depend on others for capabilities it can and should own.” — Jayasuryan Prabhakaran, Founding Partner, The Guild Co.

Brakes India Leadership on the Service Program

“As we continue to expand our global footprint, building a resilient and future-ready supply chain is a strategic priority. This program will enable us to strengthen our global sourcing capabilities, access specialized expertise, and create a more agile supply ecosystem. TGC's global network and experience make them a natural partner in supporting this journey.” — K. Vasudevan, Group President & Head, Brakes Business, Brakes India Private Limited
