India Dropped a Monster 8.2% GDP Print for Q2 (July–September 2025)

Fastest in six quarters. Beat every forecast. Manufacturing up 9.1%, services 9.2%, private consumption 7.9%. Half-year growth now at 8%. We’re officially the fastest-growing major economy again, and the gap with everyone else just got wider.

Let’s also note, though, that it’s not all smooth sailing. Challenges right now:

  • Net exports shaved off 2.1 percentage points: global demand is shaky and new tariff threats from the US are real.
  • Nominal GDP grew only 8.7%: deflationary pressures are squeezing corporate margins hard.
  • Monsoons were uneven: rural demand is still patchy.
  • Red tape, land acquisition delays and state-level policy flip-flops haven’t magically disappeared.
  • The talent war in deep tech is brutal: everyone wants the same 100,000 AI and hardware engineers.

So yes, India remains hard mode. Always has been. Always will be.

But hard mode is exactly where the biggest deltas are made.

And right now, in intelligent systems and devices (biometric systems, AIoT, edge compute, smart sensors, robotics, vision systems, automotive electronics and more), India is presenting a ton of opportunities.

Also, local manufacturing is on the rise. Why?

  • Domestic demand is finally deep enough to justify localisation.
  • PLI 2.0, SEMICON India and DPDP clarity are actually working.
  • Every global OEM and supplier is under pressure to de-risk from single-source exposure.
  • The component ecosystem (PCBs, cameras, passives, precision mechanics) has crossed critical mass in the last 18 months.

Translation: the same bureaucracy that frustrated you in 2018 is now the moat protecting those who got in early.

At The Guild Co., we’re not here to sell you the “India shining” dream. We are here to deliver on your expectations from India.

India isn’t easy. Never will be. But for intelligent systems and devices, the opportunity-to-friction ratio has rarely been this attractive.
