China’s Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, stated that the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Tianjin SCO summit on 31 August 2025 marked a “new level of improvement” in bilateral relations. This was their second bilateral meeting since their previous encounter at the Kazan BRICS summit in 2024.
